Position Title: Part-Time Kitchen Hand 

Location: Indian Fusion Restaurant, 1243 N Main Street, Shamrock, Texas, 79079


Indian Fusion Restaurant is seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand to support the kitchen team in delivering high-quality service. The Kitchen Hand will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, assisting in food preparation, and ensuring smooth operations in the kitchen.

Hours: Approximately 15-20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours during peak restaurant times. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Education: No formal education is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to follow instructions and operate standard kitchen equipment safely.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and handle the fast-paced environment.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new and diverse cooking techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning: Ensuring all areas of the kitchen, equipment, and utensils are clean and sanitized according to health and safety regulations.

  • Preparation Work: Assisting in the preparation of food ingredients which includes washing, peeling, cutting, and pre-cooking processes.

  • Cooking Assistance: Helping chefs and cooks in assembling dishes, managing simple cooking tasks under supervision, and ensuring ingredients are stocked and ready for use.

  • Maintenance: Checking and maintaining kitchen equipment and reporting any malfunctions to the management.

  • Waste Management: Proper disposal of kitchen waste and ensuring recycling procedures are followed where applicable.

  • Compliance: Adhering to all food hygiene and safety standards as set by the restaurant and regulatory bodies.
